Cheikhou Kouyaté (born December 21, 1989 in Dakar) is a Senegal footballer who plays in Belgium for R.S.C. Anderlecht.

Kouyaté began his career 1996 in his hometown with ASC Yego Dakar and was scouted from FC Brussels in September 2006.[1]
The 19-year-old has left FC Brussels and won his trial against his former employers who did not pay him in the last three months, and been allowed to join Belgian rivals R.S.C. Anderlecht on a four-year deal.[2]
For the 2008-09 season, Kouyaté will be loaned out to K.V. Kortrijk [3] and turned back to R.S.C. Anderlecht on 1 July 2009[4]
Centre midfielder Kouyate claimed that Arsène Wenger’s scouts have been following his career, but he finally opted to join Anderlecht, who made him a concrete proposition.[5]
